Students try to look their “best”. Boys usually wear long pants and a collared shirt. Jackets, sweaters, vests and ties are sometimes added. Girls usually wear dresses, skirts or nice pants with pretty tops. “Fancy” non-sport shoes are allowed. NO hats, leis or distracting accessories.
Students arrive at 9:30 a.m. to their classroom.
Parents will receive their student’s end of the year student learning assessments. portfolios, yearbooks, etc. Parents may proceed to the church. Students will walk together as a class to the ceremony.
The Graduation Ceremony is at 10:00 a.m. in the Church.
During the ceremony students will walk up the middle aisle, stand on the altar and then sit in the first three rows on both sides in the front. Students will be called up one by one by name to receive their kindergarten graduation certificate.
MANNERS PLEASE! (Exclamation mark is used for strong feeling!)
Remember to respect the Church. NO BALLOONS! NO CHEERING! Applause ONLY after ALL the students’ names have been called! NO WHISTLING! NO SHOUTING! We will stand on the altar after the ceremony for a few minutes for photo opportunities. Families should not stand on the altar.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
Remind family members of MANNERS PLEASE! (Every member of your family will receive a “Red Ticket” if you break The Manners Rules.)
Students are dismissed from the church after the ceremony for summer vacation.
They will sit on the altar steps after the ceremony. You may approach the front. Teachers will make eye contact with a family member and dismiss them to you.
There is a small reception in the Hall, sponsored by the 1st Grade.
A small snack is provided for students. Many families like to use this opportunity to take some extra photos and sign yearbooks with friends.
