Kindergarten Weekly Note 
October 21, 2019

This Week We Are Learning About:
Religion - God’s Gifts, Red Ribbon Week Healthy Habits
Language Arts - Alphabet recognition, Letter sounds
Math - Numbers 23-26
Science - Animals, ecosystem, habitat
PE is on Tuesday and Thursday -You may wear Hawaiian attire with
tennis shoes on Tuesday and add red accessories to your PE
uniform on Thursday.

Monday-Wacky sock day! Wear your uniform and wacky socks.
Tuesday, October 22nd – Hawaiian Day
EARLY DISMISSAL DAY - Kindergarten is dismissed at 1:40 p.m. If you
are unable to pick up your child at 1:40 p.m. and they do not usually attend
DayCare you could sign them up for Homework Club. It is in the Hall until
2:45pm on Early Dismissal Tuesdays. A teacher walks kindergarten students
to Homework Club.  Students must be picked up by 3:00 pm or they will be
sent to Day Care.
Wednesday, October 23rd - Add western accessories to your uniform.
Thursday, October 24th - Add red accessories to your PE uniform.
Friday, October 25th – Non-uniform ALPHABET DAY! Kinders are
making alphabet accessories to add to their non-uniform outfits to
celebrate the end of ABC Boot-camp!
MINIMUM DAY - Kindergarten is dismissed at 11:45 a.m.  Trunk or Treat
is 5-9 p.m. Please see the school’s weekly email for more information.
Thursday, October 31st - Halloween - Students may wear costumes to
school. 
We will participate in a school parade, enjoy festive activities, and eat
special snacks.

PENNIES FROM HEAVEN - STEWARDSHIP PROJECT
October is Respect Life Month in our Catholic Church. We need your help in
collecting money, especially any extra change, like pennies, nickels, and dimes
for Pennies from Heaven collection at our parish.  You can turn your envelopes
into the school office during the next few weeks. This year the proceeds will
benefit: Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos which is close by to St. Irenaeus
School. We hope you can help us out and remember you are helping so many people,
especially children!

Red Ribbon Week

Dear Kindergarten Families,
Here are the dress up themes for Red Ribbon Week October 21-25, 2019.
Kindergartners should always wear tennis shoes that Velcro or tie to school,
and adhere to all non-uniform guidelines. We hope you have fun dressing up next week!
Monday-Crazy Sock Day: Drugs are crazy, so are your socks! Students may add crazy socks
to their uniform attire.
Tuesday- Hawaiian Day: Lei off drugs! Students may wear Hawaiian attire (non-uniform day).
Wednesday- Western Day: Give drugs the boot! Students may add Western accents
to their uniform attire. 
Thursday- Crazy Red Day: Fly like an eagle and soar away from drugs! Students may add red
to their uniform attire.
Friday- Alphabet  Day: ABC Bootcamp is done! Students may wear non-uniform attire.
Kindergarten will be working on accents to add to our outfits for our
Kindergarten Fashion show.
