March 20, 2019
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Our Kindergarten field trip this year will be to
Centennial Farm at the Orange County Fairgrounds on
Wednesday, April 3, 2019. The attached permission slip
is due Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Our bus is paid for by
our HSA. The farm requests a donation of $1.00 per child
if you would like to contribute to the continuation of the
program they offer.
The facility is closed to the public during our
scheduled tour. We will have the opportunity to see farm
animals and crops. There will be an option to hold a chick
and there will be different types of hay at the farm.
Our farm tour begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. We
want to make sure we are on time, so we request that
you have your child to school Wednesday, April 3rd no
later than 7:45 a.m. Our plan is to leave on the bus by
8:00 a.m. Arriving on time will allow us to unpack, take
attendance, get our lunches into baskets and get everyone
ready to board the bus promptly. The trip to Costa Mesa
could take up to an hour if traffic is heavy. Thank you for
your consideration and for helping us to be timely.
Another couple of items of importance:
Students should all come to school with a bag that
includes both a snack and a lunch. They should be
labeled with your child’s name in marker. We will eat
after our tour and the students will be very hungry
from all of the excitement, so please pack according
to your child’s thirst and appetite. Students should be
wearing long blue jeans (no shorts please), a red St I. shirt,
tennis shoes, and the red St. I sweatshirt/jacket if it is
chilly. This is the most safe and comfortable clothing for
your child’s day at the farm. Applying sunscreen before we
leave and wearing a hat are also advised, as we are outside
for a large part of our day.
When the tour is over at about 10:30 a.m., we will take a
group picture and go to the restroom. After that we will eat. We
will get back on the bus to head back to school at about 12:00 p.m.
We plan to return to school by 1:00 p.m. Please let us know if you
have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mrs. Liljeberg and Mrs. Cierley
